About Sergio Castro Block AKA Block-22
Since the mid-80s Sergio Castro Block has been involved in the world of comics, illustration and also the creation of stencils, working at the "Design Victor Castro" Studio, in parallel to his studies in Architecture and Graphic Design, and in 1989 he held his first exhibition. Since 1992, Sergio Castro has been involved in the field of digital illustration, creating more than 5,000 works in this format, some of which were published in important national circulation media in the Argentine Republic. He began to incorporate into his work techniques used in his volumetric study models, creating reliefs and collages in cardboard, wood and plastic, incorporating new materials and techniques. This is how a design system that he calls "Castro-Vision" emerges, which allows him to project and assemble his works as if they were puzzles. In parallel to his studies in Architecture, he worked in the field of Editorial Graphic Design for newspapers and magazines, working as an Art Director. In 1999 he began creating flash animations. That year he founded the D-Form studio, dedicated to projects based on different artistic disciplines.

Sergio Castro comienza su actividad artística en el año 1989 paralelamente a sus estudios de arquitectura y diseño Gráfico empieza a incorporar en sus trabajos técnicas utilizadas en sus maquetas de estudio volumétricas, realizando pequeños relieves y collages en cartón, madera y plástico, utilizando una paleta/básica (amarillo, rojo, azul + blanco y negro), van ganando en tamaño y en complejidad a medida que pasa el tiempo, incorporando nuevos materiales y técnicas. Así surge un sistema de diseño qu e el denomina “Castro-Visión”, que le permite el proyectado y ensamblado de sus obras como si fueran rompecabezas. Paralelamente a sus estudios de Arquitectura se desempeña en el campo del Diseño Gráfico Editorial de diarios y revistas del cual también toma prestado herramientas de trabajo, así comienza en el año 1992 a incursionar en el diseño y la ilustración digital, realizando hasta la fecha mas de 5000 trabajos en ese formato e imprimiendo en grandes dimensiones esos trabajos.
